Fate is always right. Donghae just refuses to believe in it.

"Donghae, could you please sort out these documents?"

"Donghae, would you be a dear and get me some coffee? Black with no sugar, the way I like it."

"I need you to deliver these important documents to Mr Park today, Donghae."

"Donghae-"

The pager on Donghae's desk kept on ringing and ringing without fail. Donghae this, Donghae that, his boss could really be such a bother sometimes.

"Donghae I told you to come into my office. What's taking so long?" The flat voice coming from the pager asked. Donghae sighed and rubbed his temples before answering with a "Coming!" while dragging his feet to his boss's office.

Donghae was currently working as a personal assistant for Lee Eunhyuk, the manager of the highly prestigious hotel in Seoul, South Korea - "Carpe Noctem". It basically translates to "Seize The Night". Quite fitting for a hotel name, right? Anyway, Lee Eunhyuk, Donghae's boss, wasn't his real name. His actual name was Lee Hyukjae and Donghae could still vividly remember his first day at work, when he had accidentally called Eunhyuk "Hyukjae" and almost got sacked if not for his excessive puppy eyes and pleading (which was highly effective). Donghae could also recall how much he hated his boss during their first encounter. Sure, their work relationship had gotten a little better and Eunhyuk was an absolutely gorgeous human being with his sleek body and all, but that didn't deter Donghae from feeling like strangling his boss every single time (which was everyday) he gave out a tad too many duties for Donghae to do (which happened everyday as well).

"Yes?" Donghae poked his head into Eunhyuk's elegant office after getting permission to enter.

Eunhyuk looked up from his stack of papers and put away his reading glasses to look at Donghae in the eye. "About time, Donghae. You really need to work on your punctuality. You're about 1 minute 49 seconds and 14 milliseconds late darling." Eunhyuk leaned back into his armchair, showing Donghae a stopwatch dangling from his hand as he did so.

Donghae mentally flipped tables and shot Eunhyuk in the head with a bazooka.

What the fuck was so wrong about being 1 minute 49 seconds and fucking 14 milliseconds late you preppy bitch? Why were you even timing me?

"Sorry Eunhyuk, I'll work on it as soon as possible, don't worry." Donghae gritted his teeth bitterly.

"Ha," Eunhyuk raised an eyebrow. "You don't sound all too convincing to me darling. In this field of work, it is essential to always be punctual so that-"

Call me darling again and I will fucking murder you and throw you into the sea.

Donghae bit his tongue back from saying whatever nasty comments he had in mind. "Why did you call me into your office, Eunhyuk?" He asked monotonously, interrupting Eunhyuk's soon-to-be long lecture about punctuality.

Eunhyuk stopped talking and stared at Donghae before laughing. "Always straight to the point. I've always liked that trait of you. But don't ever interrupt me again." Donghae mentally scoffed. "Grab a chair and sit next to me, will you?"

Even though Donghae had no idea why the almighty Eunhyuk wanted him to sit next to him, he complied to his orders obediently. Donghae pulled a chair and placed it next to Eunhyuk. He sat on the said chair awkwardly, his hands in between his knees.

"Yes?" Donghae questioned nervously. "Donghae," Eunhyuk suddenly leaned into Donghae, their faces dangerously close. There was a mischevious glint in Eunhyuk's eyes that Donghae didn't miss.

Shit shit shit shit why is he so close to me, is he going to rape me? Oh my God I should've left the door open and let the world see how much a scum this man is. Oh God please help me, I promise not to ring my neighbour's doorbells and run away anymore just plea-

"Look over these documents for me, I'm going out. It better be done when I get back darling." Eunhyuk interrupted Donghae's train of thoughts while handing Donghae the stack of papers on his desk. Eunhyuk then coolly stood up from his chair and walked out of his own office, his hips swaying from side to side. Donghae stared at the now closed door, gawking.

"Such a bitch." Donghae hissed as he turned to the stack of papers in front of him.

"Calling me darling three times a day." Donghae cringed, cursing. "I should just burn down this whole entire building along with the manager in it." Donghae smirked evilly while imagining the entire scene unfolding in his mind.

Not long after, Donghae finally regained his senses and stopped his train of sadistic thoughts. He looked once again at the papers and sighed for the nth time that day. Hopefully Eunhyuk wouldn't be back too soon; there was way too much stuff to look over. Donghae couldn't possibly finish it on time.

And Eunhyuk absolutely did not like unfinished work.
