| Chapter 2 |

"Eunhyuk, wha-, what are you doing here?" Donghae stammered in shock. He'd never thought of bumping his boss in public. Heck, he'd never thought he'd bump into his boss in a dark alley, crying his heart out.

"Whaaaaa!" Eunhyuk wailed more loudly while covering his face with his bare hands. Donghae shifted awkwardly in his position, in a dilemma. Should he just run away and pretend he didn't see anything or comfort his sorry excuse of a boss? Donghae decided to choose the latter, if he wanted to keep his job. Eunhyuk was already in a bad mood as it was, firing people that displeased him at work, and Donghae knew that there was a high probability he'd be fired if he left Eunhyuk there alone, especially since Donghae had made his presence known. He knelt down on the pathway and ran his hand on Eunhyuk's back gently in an effort to cheer him up, or at least make him feel better. It was futile. Eunhyuk kept on crying despite whatever Donghae tried, and Donghae was getting frustrated.

Maybe it's because he's cold. Donghae thought to himself. Reluctantly, Donghae took off his warm leather coat and whimpered a little when the cold air hit his soft skin. Slowly, Donghae draped the coat on Eunhyuk, trying to keep him warm.

Eunhyuk's cries did not go away until about twenty minutes later. Donghae mentally thanked God when Eunhyuk's sobs finally subsided. As soon as Eunhyuk stopped crying, they sat there in an awkward silence, neither one of them not knowing what to say. Honestly, what were you supposed to say to your employee and vice-versa in this kind of situation?

"I-"

"I-"

The two of them started talking at the same time.

"You first-"

"You first-"

They interrupted each other once again, before exchanging glances and laughing softly.

"You go first," Donghae smiled gently. Currently, they were both sitting on the sidewalk, getting unconsciously comfortable with each other as the seconds passed.

Eunhyuk nodded and returned the smile. "Right. Um, I guess what I wanted to say was, uh..." Eunhyuk hesitated, looking down at the pavement anxiously.

Huffing a big breath, he continued his sentence. "I guess what I wanted to say was, thanks Donghae. I really appreciate it. Now it's your turn to speak."

"You're welcome, Eunhyuk. Now don't mind me asking, but what the hell were you doing alone in here? You could have gotten a cold with these clothes! I mean-" Donghae nagged subconsciously, but trailed off once he realized that he was talking to his boss, Lee Eunhyuk, and not someone he was particularly close with.

Eunhyuk however, smiled and raised an eyebrow. "You mean...?" He probed on.

"I-, I mean... at least wear some suitable clothes for winter if you're going to sit here and cry your heart out alone... Why suffer the coldness too when your heart is already suffering so much?" Donghae muttered under his breath quickly, avoiding eye contact with Eunhyuk. Donghae found Eunhyuk's tone menacing and he didn't really like it.

"Well at least you've given me the warmth, so thank you Donghae, for taking away my suffering of the coldness of winter. I am eternally grateful to you, darling." Eunhyuk laughed.

Donghae however, cringed at the nickname.

Such an ass, he still teases me when I've helped him...

"Oh my God." Eunhyuk suddenly squealed, making Donghae snap out of his thoughts and look at Eunhyuk.

Donghae watched as Eunhyuk took out a strawberry-flavored lollipop from his leather coat. The same one that he had offered to Yesung just a while ago.

"Can I have this please Donghae? Pretty please? Pretty please with a gazillion cherries on top?" Eunhyuk practically batted his eyes to Donghae.

Donghae blinked in disbelief. Was his boss actually acting cute to him?

He seems like a normal human being when he's acting like that. Plus, he's really cute too...

"You don't want to give it to me?" Eunhyuk pouted.

He. Freaking. Pouted.

"Ah, yes, I mean no, of-, of course you can have it, Eunhyuk," Donghae stammered in surprise.

Eunhyuk threw his hands up in the air in happiness in response and began to tear the lollipop's wrapping open frantically, wanting to taste it.

Donghae watched in pure amazement, wondering how a lollipop could make Eunhyuk so happy. He should have just offered that lollipop to Eunhyuk when he found him crying, that would have cheered him up. After a few seconds of dazing at his boss, he cleared his throat and pointed out the obvious. "Seems like you really like lollipops."

"Are you kidding me? It's not the lollipop I like, it's the flavor! Strawberry is delicious!" Eunhyuk gushed happily, taking out the lollipop from his mouth to talk.

"Oh, really? I personally think chocolate is nicer than s-"

Eunhyuk gasped dramatically before Donghae could finish his sentence. "There is nothing more delicious than strawberry, Donghae! How could you think of such a thing?!"

"But I like strawberry too!"

---

Thirty minutes passed, and the two of them were still on the sidewalk, casually chatting away as if they had known each other since forever.

For the first time in his life, Donghae thought of Eunhyuk as a friend and not his menacing and asshole-worthy boss.

And for once, Eunhyuk thought that Donghae wasn't such a loser as he had looked. Eunhyuk actually thought that his employee was quite attractive and kind.

"Eunhyuk?" Donghae called out gently.

"Yes?" Eunhyuk answered while gazing at the stars.

"I'm cold," Donghae deadpanned.

Eunhyuk glanced at Donghae and gasped. "Oh right! I'm using your coat, I'm sorry!" Eunhyuk quickly took off the coat and handed it over to Donghae, who was smiling happily.

"Why are you smiling like that?"

"Nothing. Shouldn't you be heading home now?"

"About that... You know... The reason why I was actually here, is because... uh, my fiance..." Eunhyuk trailed off and scrunched his face, trying to find the right words to say.

"Well to put it simply, I caught her in bed with another man. And to think our wedding was just a few months away..." Eunhyuk muttered, his facial expression turning grim as he finished his sentence. Tears were welling up in Eunhyuk's eyes, and Donghae immediately regretted asking the question.

Donghae gulped nervously, feeling sorry for Eunhyuk. The next few words he said however, came out as a complete shock to him.

"Would you like to spend a few days in my home, then?"
